“Old Florida Style Datil Pepper
Barbeque Rub” and
“Old Florida Style Datil Pepper
Honey Barbeque Sauce”
Barbeque Burgers-
Add 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons of Old Florida Style
Barbeque
Rub and 2 tablespoons of Old Florida Style Honey
Barbeque Sauce to each pound of ground beef. Form
into ¼ pound patties and grill, flipping only once.
Too much sauce will make the burgers fall apart.
Barbeque Baby Back Ribs- Remove ribs from
package, rinse with cold water
and dry. Rub both sides of the ribs with a thin coat
of vegetable oil. Rub in 1 ½
tablespoons of Old Florida Style Barbeque rub on
each side of the ribs. Place
on a cookie sheet, cover with plastic wrap and
refrigerate over night. Pre heat
an oven to 275 degrees. Unwrap the pan of ribs and
add ½ cup of water to the
bottom of the pan. Cover the pan tightly with
aluminum foil and cook for 3
hours. Uncover and carefully dump off the liquid.
Place ribs on a preheated
char grill and brush on Old Florida Style Honey
Barbeque Sauce. You only
need to caramelize the sauce. Be careful not to burn
the sauce. Serve!
Barbeque Chicken- Rinse and dry one chicken
cut into pieces. Combine 5
tablespoons of melted butter with ¼ cup of virgin
olive oil. Add ¼ cup plus 2
tablespoons of Old Florida Style Barbeque Rub. Brush
the mixture onto the
chicken pieces thoroughly. Bake in a preheated 350
degree oven for 70
minutes or grill slowly until you have an internal
temperature of 165 degrees
You can brush on Old Florida Style Honey Barbeque
sauce during the last 10
minutes of cooking, if you wish.
Barbeque Brisket-
1 4-6 pound brisket
½ cup Old Florida Style Barbeque Rub
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 cup of Old Florida Style Honey Barbeque Sauce
Rinse and dry the brisket, coat the brisket with a
thin layer of olive oil. Rub in
the Old Florida Style Barbeque Rub on both sides of
the brisket. Place the
seasoned brisket, fat side up, on a double layer of
foil and seal the edges
Completely to retain the moisture inside while
cooking, Place the foil packet in
a roasting pan and cook at 325 degree for 5 hours,
until tender. Open the
packet and add the Old Florida Style Honey Barbeque
sauce, reseal and cook
for another 30 minutes.
Barbeque Shrimp- Peel and devein 1 pound of
large shrimp (21-25 ct). Mix
together 1 tablespoon of Old Florida Barbeque Rub
with 2 tablespoons of
olive oil in a gallon baggie, add shrimp and toss,
being sure to coat all of the
shrimp. Place the shrimp on a grill and cook for
around 4 to 5 minutes. Shrimp
do not take long to cook. Use Old Florida Style
Barbeque sauce to dip the
shrimp in before eating.

Florida Style Datil Pepper Salsa and Condiment”
As a Snack or Appetizer- Fill a bowl with Old
Florida Datil Pepper Salsa and
Condiment and serve with tortilla chips for a great
snack. Fill a deep plate with
Old Florida Datil Pepper Salsa and condiment and
place a block of cream
cheese on top. Serve with your favorite crackers or
tortilla chips or scoops.
For Breakfast- Old Florida Datil Pepper Salsa
and Condiment is great on
scrambled eggs or folded into a Western omelet to
make a “St Augustine
Omelet”
For Lunch or Backyard Cookout- Serve as a
topping for hamburgers and
hot dogs.
For Dinner- Serve as a condiment with pot
roasted pork or beef, fish or shrimp.
